Do You Trust Me or Not?

Let’s talk about trust for a minute.
Not the kind of trust where you hope your Amazon package arrives on time (although, let’s be honest, that’s important too). I’m talking about the deep, heart-level kind of trust—the kind that puts your most precious things in God's hands and says, "Okay, Lord... I’m letting go."
I faced that kind of trust head-on the day I dropped my son off at the airport.
He was 18. Young. Brave. Called. He had an opportunity to travel to Saudi Arabia to meet a team and film a documentary. As a mom, my heart was proud… but it was also terrified. He had to fly across the world alone, get picked up by people I didn’t know personally, and join a team on the other side of the globe. My friend was with the team—yes—but it still felt like such a leap.
And as I stood there, watching him prepare for this journey, the Lord whispered something into my heart:
“Do you trust Me or not?”
Not do you kind of trust Me, or do you trust Me when it’s convenient. But flat out—do you or don’t you?No middle ground.
Whew. That hit me like a freight train. I had to face it. Because let’s be real—so many of us say we trust God… but when our comfort or control is threatened, fear tries to take over. And in that moment, I had to decide:Would I let fear lead, or would I surrender this son I love so much into the hands of the God who loves him even more?
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."— Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
I stood in the tension between fear and faith, and I chose to trust. I laid hands on my son, prayed over him, and said, “Lord, I give him to You. I trust You.”
Not because I had every detail figured out. Not because I knew what was ahead. But because I knew Who was going with him.
And let me tell you—God was with him every step of the way.He made it there safely. He connected with the team. He did what God called him to do. And even though I couldn’t be there physically, I had peace. Why? Because I wasn’t trusting the flight itinerary.I wasn’t trusting the team logistics.I was trusting the God who never leaves us or forsakes us.
"You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You!"— Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)
Here’s what I’ve learned:Trust isn’t passive. It’s a bold choice. It’s a drop-your-son-off-at-the-airport-and-walk-away-with-peace kind of faith. And it’s not just for big moments—it’s for the everyday ones too.
That same question God asked me is one I think He’s asking all of us right now:
“Do you trust Me or not?”
There’s no in-between. Trusting Him means we lay down our need to control and pick up peace instead. It means we believe that His ways are higher—even when we can’t see the full picture.
So today, whether you’re letting go of a child, stepping into the unknown, or facing a decision that scares you—ask yourself the question I had to face.
And then answer it boldly:“Yes, Lord. I trust You.”
He’s never failed us yet, and He’s not about to start now.
Your Turn: A Moment of Trust
Take a quiet moment right now—just you and the Lord—and ask yourself the question He asked me:
“Do you trust Me or not?”
Be honest. He can handle your wrestle.
If there’s an area in your life where fear has been louder than faith, bring it before Him. Whether it’s your kids, your future, your finances, your health, or something completely different—He’s asking for your whole heart.
👉 Write it down.Grab a journal or even just the notes app on your phone and finish this sentence:
“Lord, today I choose to trust You with __________.”
Then pray this simple prayer with me:
“Father, I choose to trust You today—even when I don’t have all the answers. Help me let go of fear and lean into Your peace. I place (insert your situation here) into Your hands. I know You are good, and I know You are with me. Strengthen my heart to trust You fully. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Let’s walk in trust together—one step, one prayer, one “yes, Lord” at a time.
In Him,
